This extensive residential renovation and addition reimagines a historic Tudor-style home in Piedmont, California, balancing preservation with the demands of contemporary living. The project involved restoring the character of the original house and reorganizing living areas while carefully removing a series of unsympathetic alterations from previous renovations. This allowed new connections to the surrounding landscape and distant San Francisco city views to be established throughout the home. Designed for a client who frequently entertains, the interiors were enriched with period-inspired details, richly layered finishes, and moments of drama that create an elegant backdrop for both everyday life and larger gatherings.
