Ocean Park

Located on a compact lot in Santa Monica, just blocks from the Pacific Ocean, this new residence draws inspiration from the simple forms and relaxing rhythms of the Greek coast. Working within the constraints of a highly regulated coastal site, the project transforms limited buildable area into a series of calm, light-filled spaces that balance privacy with openness to the surrounding city and beach environment. A central courtyard was carved from the building volume to create a quiet oasis at the heart of the home, bringing natural light and landscape deep into the interior. The clients carefully curated a collection of new and vintage fixtures, tile, hardware, and lighting, lending the house a sense of character, warmth, and history that enriches its contemporary architecture.
