La Mesa

Set on a rare canyon property in Los Angeles, the project reimagines the arrival sequence of an existing Spanish style residence through a series of subtle architectural interventions. A new entry experience strengthens the relationship between the home and its surrounding landscape, framing moments of compression and release as one moves through the site. Interior renovations include the addition of a library and the opening of the stair hall, introducing greater light, spatial clarity, and a heightened sense of procession throughout the house.
