Located in the hills above Zuma Beach for a fun loving family of two vets, three kids, and a menagerie of pets, this fire-rebuild project reimagined the original family residence as a Mediterranean-influenced contemporary home deeply connected to its landscape and ocean setting. The design steps down the natural topography in a series of interconnected terraces and patios to maximize light, views, and outdoor living, establishing a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Clean lines, a restrained material palette, and carefully composed volumes create a calm and enduring backdrop for family life and entertaining friends.
